The "ice house" on Lake Superior was actually used for transporting sand and gravel from ships without entering the harbor. It only lasted 4 years before the ravages of being unprotected on the lake forced it to shut down. Now 80+ years later it's used as a playground for scuba divers and swimmers.
Unfortunately, I did not notice that water spray had spotted my lens until I came home and reviewed the pictures from the day.
